The mediums I use for the majority of my work are graphite and digital. All the work here except the birdman on top are first sketched out, then scanned and coloured in photoshop.

If by information you mean background storyline to characters/creatures than yes there's a really great site to find all sorts of stories. conceptart.org, some concept artists tend to explain every minute detail about their creations, and you can find them in the forums there.
